originally from newcastle, in the north of england, Kate first cut her teeth working in London as a womenswear designer at a multitude of top fashion brands, including COS, GAP & most recently Barbour, working on high profile collaborations such as Copenhagen brand Ganni and opening showpieces for Erdem’s SS24 collection showcased at the british museum
Kate’s designs have been seen across the world; in publications such as Vogue & Harpers Bazaar, editorials shot by Tim Walker and modelled by Lila Moss & Amber Valletta. On musicians and actresses and the backs of well-dressed people everywhere.

Falcus & wood was born out of a solution to a problem that founder kate falcus wood encountered when looking for a bridal gown for her own wedding. after feeling frustrated at the mostly traditional dresses on offer, kate set to designing her dress; a dress that reflected a modern woman that wanted her taste, and story to be honored on her wedding day.
the dress then led to a dream to produce exceptionally crafted dresses for brides who wanted to wear pieces that traversed the gap between bridal and fashion. pieces with modern silhouettes created in traditional bridal fabrications. collection 001 takes inspiration from a selection of the 'coolest’ brides from the past and vintage runways to tell the story of the future bride
